Cortez Public Library announces September events

Cortez Public Library is now open from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday by appointment only. To reserve a 45-minute session, call 565-8117. Masks are required.

The library will host the following virtual events in September:

6-7 p.m. Sept. 11: author talk with Bruce Berlin. He will discuss his book “Breaking Big Money’s Grip on America.” The book offers a nonpartisan plan to revive American democracy. Preregister by noon Sept. 11.6-7 p.m. Sept 23: Presentation on mining history and historic preservation in the high San Juan Mountains by Kristie Arrington. Arrington has been a Four Corners archaeologist for more than 24 years and will share her latest research. Preregister by noon Sept. 23.Summer reading reward bags will be available beginning Sept. 9. Call to schedule pickup.
