Saturday, June 8

While doing a bar check police recognized a female from previous contacts. Knowing that she had a protection order that prohibited her from consuming alcohol, they asked her to take a breath test. The woman agreed but asked if she could use the restroom first. After waiting several minutes, the police asked an employee to check on the woman. The employee told police that the woman was trying to make herself vomit. A few minutes later the door opened to the bathroom and an officer could see the woman washing her tongue with soap. When the woman returned from the restroom, the results of the breath test were .067. The woman was placed into custody for a protection order violation.

Sunday, June 9

Police reported to the Giant Station at 2320 E. Main for an individual who said he had a gun pulled on him. The victim said there was a man in the gas station who asked him for money because he had recently lost $300. The victim offered the man a drink coupon, and the man became angry and started throwing things. The two men both left the gas station and went separate ways. The victim was walking to his truck when the man grabbed his rifle and pointed it at him from across the parking lot and said that he was going to shoot him. The victim jumped in his truck and took off, believing that the man was not lying. When police question the man with the gun, he admitted pointing the gun at the victim and was then issued a summons for felony menacing.

Sunday, June 9

A woman went to the police department to return a wallet. When the officer arrived to speak with her, the woman explained that she went into Slaven’s, leaving her car unlocked, and when she came back out she noticed that her seat and her steering wheel were in different positions. The woman also found a wallet lying on the passenger seat of her car. In the wallet there were two debit cards, $114 in cash, a Social Security card and two business cards. The woman did not want to press charges on the man for entering her vehicle; she just wanted to return his wallet.

Monday, June 10

An officer saw a truck speeding. The driver of the S-10 Chevrolet pickup also failed to stop at two stop signs and did not use a signal when turning. When the officer explained his reasoning for pulling the woman over, she laughed and apologized, saying she did not have a driver’s license but she was “trying to learn.” She also said that she was in a hurry to get to the liquor store and that she had already consumed two Coronas. The officer arrested the woman and took her to the hospital for a blood alcohol test. The woman began yelling at the hospital staff. The officer served the woman with a summons for failure to provide proof of insurance, DUI, driving without a valid driver’s license, disregarding stop signs and failure to signal as required.

Tuesday, June 11

A man was nearly hit by a car while he was staggering and losing his balance on the side of the road. The driver of the vehicle said that the man fell of the curb into the road. When police arrived, the man was falling and still staggering in circles. The man was arrested for being an intoxicated pedestrian.
