Cortez is now accepting applications for grants of up to $5,000 from organizations that uplift the city.
Taken from the city’s general fund, awarded funds from the Community Support Grant will be given to groups that “preserve or enrich the health, education, and welfare of the community,” a news release from the city reads.
“Community support organizations may receive grants, up to $5,000, to support activities and programs that are accessible to the city of Cortez community and encourage the development of healthy community organizations that provide programs for community welfare and education in the region.”
The deadline to apply is Oct. 17 at 5 p.m. Announcements for awards will be sent out early in December and funding will be distributed by January 2026.
