Cortez grad Tara Abrams attends national convention

Two local students, Tara Abrams of Cortez and Alexandra Dobbs of Durango, were named among the 34 Fort Lewis College students and two faculty members who attended the Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science National Convention in October in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Abrams is a chemistry major, and Dobbs, who gave a presentation at the convention, is a mathematics major.

The trip was funded by National Institute of Health program Science Scholars: The Native American Path.
