Cortez FFA event to help fund student initiatives

Cortez’s National FFA Organization chapter is hosting a fundraiser on Friday, April 26.
Money will help students pay for FFA jackets, upcoming conventions

The Cortez National FFA Organization chapter will be hosting a fundraiser to help pay for FFA jackets that’ll go to students participating in FFA.

The fundraiser will take place at 6 p.m. April 26 at the Lewis-Arriola Community Center, 21203 Road South in Cortez.

“The money will go toward kids that don’t have FFA jackets, as well as our trips to the national convention and state convention,” FFA teacher Skyla Hamilton said.

The fundraiser will feature a silent auction, main auction and dessert auction for community members to bid on. There will also be a pulled pork sandwich dinner.

Tickets are $10 per person and are available for purchase at Love on a Hanger, 34 East Main St., and at Montezuma-Cortez High School.
