Ute Mountain Casino Director of Securty Willard Light was awarded the Mountain of Thanks Award at the Cortez Chamber of Commerce’s annual Gratitude Gala. The award recognized Light’s efforts in implementing effective safety protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The award was also presented to The Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office, Ute Mountain Fire and Rescue, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.

The Gratitude Gala assists in raising funds for the 100 Club of Montezuma County, which provides assistance to families of first-responders who have died in the line of duty.
