There were over 125 participants who withstood the heat to compete in the state double race at Cortez BMX track on Saturday.
With competitors from across Colorado, Cortez BMX was well represented during the state series race.
Cortez riders Dameon Muff, Braiden Seymour, Carter Galloway, Mario Espinoza, Dustin Rosenbaugh, Chase Moore and Cole Baxter all won their classes, while a number of other local riders finished in the top three positions.
The points awarded to winners were doubled for Saturday’s state series race, and the race also counted as a qualifying race for riders seeking to participate in the state championship in September.
