On Saturday, Sept. 13, Fozzie’s Farm will host a free family-friendly salsa event from 2 to 6 p.m. at 19760 Road W. At the event, community members are invited to participate in a light harvest of vegetables, which will then be used to create and share a variety of salsas.
Attendees can enjoy chips, a light meal and an art activity designed for children. The event also provides an opportunity to learn about efforts to make Fozzie’s Farm an accessible space for local farmers, according to Community Programs Manager Aidan Gaughran. Participants will leave with full bellies and a jar of homemade salsa.
Fozzie’s Farm, located in Lewis, spans 50 acres and was founded in 2019. The farm has served more than 4,000 visitors and program participants since then. It also features a classroom where agricultural programming, paid internships, landowner workshops, school field trips and other activities are held.
