The First Baptist Church hosts a recital, introducing Nick Romeo, at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 3. Refreshments are included. Romeo is a professional journalist and author with a strong amateur interest in music. His recital will feature works by Bach and Chopin.

The Mt. Lookout Grange (680 Grange Ave, Mancos) hosts a free presentation at 7 p.m. by the Montezuma School to Farm Project about the program's work to connect our farming heritage with our future. All are welcome.

The Montelores Early Childhood Council holds its next monthly luncheon meeting on the first at 11:45 a.m., in downstairs meeting room 110 in the Johnson Building, 925 S. Broadway, in Cortez. The public is invited, especially parents. Lunch will be provided. RSVP to Vangi McCoy at 970-749-7017.

"Super 'Sylum," a play written by Mancos students, is about four young people have been placed in an asylum for believing that they are superheroes. Performances are at 7 p.m. in the Performance Center in Mancos. Tickets: $5 for adults; $3 for students, children and seniors.
