Girl Scout Bronze Award Event, 5:30 p.m.- 8 p.m., Cortez City Park, meet at the stage. Girl Scouts will do a skit to highlight the signs of child abuse. Donation: $3 a plate for hot dogs, chips and beverages. Bring a chair or blanket

June 14

Free tours of about 20 local artist's studios will be held 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. for The Great Mancos Roundup. Start at the Mancos Visitor's Center at 101 E. Bauer where maps are available.

A Butterfly and Insect Walk at the Mancos State Park will be held 2-3:30 p.m. Meet at the Quarry Trailhead.

Blues, swing, jazz and dancing with WE-3, featuring Tony Littlejohn, Herb Folsom, Cat Hill and special guest trumpeter Bob Newnan at 7-9 p.m. at the Cortez Cultural Center's opening summer season of music, downtown Cortez.

The 4 Corners Beekeepers Association's monthly meeting is at 6 p.m. at the Florida Baptist Church on U.S. 160 near Elmore's. Guest speaker is from the local Master Gardeners Club. Everyone is invited.

Four Corners 9/12 group meets 7 p.m. at the Cortez Elks Lodge This months meeting will be open candidate forum for County Commission. Candidates will be James Lambert and Jim Candelaria.

June 19

Learn about beekeeping and beehives at the Mancos Public Library at 6 p.m. This program will explore the current plight of bees and showcase the new colony of bees at the library.

There will be an open house of the Mancos Times Building to showcase the restoration efforts. Tours will run from the Mancos Community Center 5:30- 7:30 p.m.
