Comet Neowise, photographed by Chuck Haspels from Cortez on July 17. The comet was discovered on March 27 with a space telescope when it was 160 million miles from Earth. It is one of the brightest comets in the northern hemisphere since Comet Hale–Bopp in 1997, and by July could be seen by the naked eye.
