CNN’s Facebook page live streamed a re-enactment from The Polar Express film around 5 p.m. just before a crowd of eager people departed on the train.

It drew thousands of viewers and hundreds of warm Christmas comments from those watching in Ghana, Brazil, Malta and many other countries.

CNN may live stream the Polar Express again on its Facebook page on Tuesday and Wednesday as well, train spokesman Christian Robbins said.

CNN was looking for Christmas events to feature, and staff members with the network called the train about participating, likely because the company has been in the national media recently, Robbins said.
