The city of Cortez will hold two public meetings seeking input on its updated Master Street Plan beginning Feb. 17.

The Master Street Plan, which hasn’t been updated since 1999, is a guiding document the city uses to propose future street alignments and provide a “road map” for Cortez’s future growth.

The plan helps residents understand where future street infrastructure is proposed. It also provides guidance to developers and local governments to ensure that there is street connectivity when development is proposed.

City staff emphasizes that the Master Street Plan is not a capital improvements plan, nor is it a means to annex land.

The meetings will take place on Zoom. The first meeting will be held on Feb. 17 at 5:30 p.m. The second will take place at Feb. 20 at 10 a.m.

A link for the meetings will be available at https://www.cityofcortez.com/
