Celebrate summer with live music, arts and crafts in Dolores Saturday

An arts and crafts fair will take place at the Dolores Community Center June 15.
Summer Fest and arts and crafts bazaar feature 80 vendors

Dolores will be filled with summer events and and 80 vendors on Saturday.

The inaugural Dolores Summer Fest will take place at Joe Rowell Park from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. It features a car show, dog carnival, live music, 40 vendors and games for children. Dogs must be leashed.

The Dolores Community Center Arts and Crafts Bazaar also will be Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 400 Riverside Ave. It features 40 vendors showcasing regional wares and crafts. The venue will be filled with original and creative one-of-a kind items, said organizer Ruby Gonzales.

At Summer Fest, the band lineup will be PFYT at 11 a.m., Bentley Mont at 1 p.m., Maddy and Kev at 3 p.m., and Flashback at 5 p.m. The music stage, car show and vendors will be spread out in the three baseball diamonds in the park.

“Everything is ready to go, we are so excited and invite the public to come out to Dolores Saturday,” said Susan Lisak, director of the Dolores Chamber of Commerce. “Relax at the park, listen to music and bring your dog. There is something for everyone.”

Pet parades will take place between each music set. There will be a slide for kids, face painting and a giant foam pile courtesy of the Dolores Volunteer Fire Department. They use Dove dish soap and water to create the foam pile.

K-9 Search and Rescue will host a dog obstacle course, and there will be an enclosed dog park with sprinklers to cool off your pooch.

The dog vendors are Obie's Angels Rescue, Denkai Animal Sanctuary, Cortez Animal Shelter, For Pets Sake Humane Society, Klix Animal Chiropractor, Mudpuppies Pet Groomers and Colorado Pet Pantry.

Food vendors include End of the Trail Catering, Olive Branch, Begay's Navajo Tacos, Fresh Squeezed Lemonade, Fire & Ice, Loop's Shaved Ice and Yia Yia's Concessions.

Drink vendors include Dolores River Brewery, Mancos Brewery, EsoTerra Ciderworks, Yellow Car Country Wines, and Coors. There will also be margaritas for sale.

Tickets for Summer Fest are $10 for adults, kids 12 and under get in free.
