A candlelight vigil is planned for Dolores High School Class of 2026 graduate Taisali Lambson, 18, who was reportedly killed in a crash last week.
The vigil will be held at Joe Rowell Park from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Organizers ask attendees to wear yellow, which was Lambson’s favorite color.
“Please join us as we celebrate and remember a life that was special to us all,” a flier with information about the vigil said. “We kindly ask that you wear yellow in remembrance of a person who brought so much light and joy to those around them.”
A Facebook post from the Dolores Colorado AG Dept and FFA Facebook page said:
“It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we share this news. Taisali was a light in every room she entered. She had a contagious laugh, a kind spirit and a way of making everyone feel welcome. During her time at FFA, she become a cherished part of our school and chapter, bringing joy, friendship and countless memories to those around her. As we wished her goodbye and good luck on her next chapter, we never imagined it would be our final farewell.”
Efforts to learn more about the crash were unsuccessful this week. Montezuma County Undersheriff Tyson Cox told The Journal that the crash did not take place in the county.
