County fair is holding book cover, poster contest
The Montezuma County Fair Board is inviting the community to participate in a contest to design the fair book cover and poster for the 2014 Montezuma County Fair. The theme is rural roots. The deadline for designs is April 1 by 4 p.m. at the Montezuma County Extension Office, 109 W. Main, Room 102, Cortez.

Veronica Shaner named to Mines’ dean’s list
Veronica M. Shaner of Mancos, in recognition of her outstanding achievement during the fall semester of the 2013-14 academic year, was named to the dean’s list at Colorado School of Mines.
This accomplishment is a reflection of her hard work and desire for excellence.
