Cortez Quilt Co. sponsoring food drive
The Cortez Quilt Co. will sponsor a food drive Jan. 20-25 to help restock the pantry at the Good Samaritan Center in Cortez.
According to center director Kristen Tworek, January is the month that the food pantry has the greatest need. Residents can drop off nonperishable food at the store, 40 W. Main in Cortez Monday through Saturday, Jan. 20-25, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Customers who donate five items will receive 10 percent off full-price merchandise, excluding furniture for that day or add 50 points to their shopping account. A donation of 10 items earns a 15 percent discount or 100 points.
The pantry especially needs peanut butter, cereal, boxed pasta, spaghetti sauce, canned soup and canned fruit. Cortez Quilt Co. will contribute one food item for each one brought in.
