Hikers and bikers took advantage of the Mesa Verde Bike and Hike Saturday on the Wetherill Mesa Tram Road, which is 5.5 miles long. Many stopped at Long House, above. Another "Hike and Bike" is scheduled for Sept. 27, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and park fees are waived. For safety reasons, bicycling isn't allowed on the Wetherill Mesa Road itself, and dogs aren't permitted on the tram road. Information: 529-4465.
