Big idea behind National Popular Vote

Opponents of the National Popular Vote bill, recently signed into law in Colorado, fail to explain their defense of a system whereby 12 battleground states hijack every presidential election while 38 flyover states and 70 percent of all voters are left sitting on the political sidelines.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand that when you must win the popular vote across all 50 states and D.C. to be awarded the 270 electoral votes necessary to become president, you’ll feel compelled to campaign all across the nation in every state – not just in a handful of swing states with electoral votes up for grabs.

That’s the big idea behind National Popular Vote – empower every voter in every state in every presidential election.
