The Artisans of Mancos gallery plan a reception for quilter and landscape artist Nancy Nard on July 29 from 5-7 p.m. as part of the Grand Summer Nights celebration of Mancos Days.

Nard, 74, from Cortez, has worked in many forms of art but currently is focusing on fabric art. She with Gyanne Cellar, also of Cortez, are producing an art form of vibrant color, unique design and intricate composition. She produces items ranging from small useful pieces to king- and queen-size bed quilts. In addition, she creates pieces referred to as landscape art, which are paintings created with small pieces of fabric.

Stop and visit with the artist and enjoy an evening of art and camaraderie in historic downtown Mancos.
