Applications are being accepted for the Four Corners Board of Realtors Dean Hanson Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarship may be awarded to traditional and nontraditional students seeking their post-secondary or graduate education, regardless of their year of enrollment.

Applicants must be a resident of Montezuma or Dolores counties.

Awardees will be selected on criteria that include academic scholarship, leadership and financial need. Last year, 10 students were awarded $1,000 each to further their post-secondary education.

The scholarship fund is supported by the Dean Hanson Memorial Golf Tournament, co-chaired by Carol Click and Marti Spitzer of RE/MAX Mesa Verde Realty.

The 2021 Dean Hanson Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Sept. 11 at the Conquistador Golf Course.

Dean Hanson was a Realtor and involved community leader. He coached Little League and was instrumental in getting the Elks club built.

The deadline to apply is May 1.

Applications are available at the counselor’s offices for Montezuma and Dolores high schools. They are also available at fourcornersboardofrealtors.net.

Applications can be mailed or turned in to the Four Corners Board of Realtors office, 350 W. Montezuma Ave, Suite A.

They can also be emailed to fourcornersboard@gmail.com, or dropped off at a student’s high school counselor’s office.
