Growing Partners of Southwest Colorado hosts their annual Homegrown Food Retreat: Sharing Stories of Community Cooperation and Homegrown Leadership on Saturday, April 9 at the Mancos school cafeteria, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Learn how to graft apple trees, start a cooperative, buy local produce for your business, map food in your community, and more.

Activities and workshops are planned for all ages, and there will be local food. The suggested donation is $20, but no one will be turned away.

The Homegrown Food Retreat is coordinated by Growing Partners of Southwest Colorado and sponsored by Absolute Bakery & Cafe, Colorado Health Foundation, Colorado Housing and Finance Authority, Colorado State University Cooperative Extension, Cooking Matters, Downtown Colorado Inc., Edible San Juan Mountains, Environmental Center at Fort Lewis College, The Garden Project of Southwest Colorado, Local First, Lotus House Illustrations, Montezuma School to Farm Project, Tacos Nayarit, The Old Fort at Hesperus, The Ore House Restaurant, Pine River Shares, Rocky Mountain Farmers Union, Southern Ute Community Action Programs, Surya Health and Wellness, and Zia Taqueria.
