I am a Hesperus local, Fort Lewis College alumnus and I am against the Hesperus solar project.

The plan of the California company is to install 500,000 solar panels within an elk migration corridor. As an avid hunter, rancher and local of 12 years, this is an environmental disgrace. I never thought La Plata County would even consider such a large company the use of our local lands, especially for profit.

I am for solar energy, but not at the cost of the environment. Let the local solar companies grow their businesses and install solar on houses, barns, schools, malls and industrial buildings, but keep our land and animals safe!

Do not allow a large company to capitalize land 29% larger than the size of Lake Nighthorse in our county.
