I am greatly saddened to learn that Nicholaus Sandner, drama teacher extraordinaire, will not be returning to Montezuma-Cortez High School next fall.
Over the past 10 years, I have been enthralled attending plays and musicals at both M-CHS and Montezuma-County Middle School.
Nicholaus’ collaboration with Angela Gabardi and Marla Sitton (also teachers extraordinaire) grew a districtwide drama program that provided our community with incomparable live entertainment.
It seemed that each play and each musical surpassed the one before. Under his tutelage and guidance, hundreds of students were able to tap into resources of talent they didn’t even know they had.
From designing and building sets, designing costumes, acting, singing, dancing, to learning all the technology of lighting and sound, there was something for each student to excel at.
Thank you, Nicholaus, for bringing so much magic and delight to our community. May your next life adventure bring you and your family as much joy and pleasure as you have given us over the past years.
