47th Telluride Jazz Festival announces lineup

While it feels like summer’s never going to get here, a little bright note: The Telluride Jazz Festival has just released its 2024 lineup.

The festival will be held Aug. 9 to 11 in Telluride, and tickets are going on sale starting at 10 a.m. Feb. 1.

“We’re ecstatic for this year’s group of artists. Every year, the talent steps up a notch and this year is no different leading with a supergroup of New Orleans royalty, Dumpstaphunk, George Porter Jr., Leo Nocentelli and Cyril Neville who will pay tribute to The Meters,” said Festival Director Steve Gumble in a news release Tuesday. “It’s guaranteed to be a special show here in our mountain town. We’re also looking forward to the debut of New Orleans rising stars, New Breed Brass Band. Recently, the group has achieved status of being Grammy nominated and we hope that in a few weeks the status will be upgraded to Grammy award winning.”

This year’s artist lineup features: Rejuvenation 50! Celebration of The Meters featuring Dumpstaphunk and special guests George Porter Jr., Leo Nocentelli, and Cyril Neville; Christian McBride, Angélique Kidjo, Antibalas, Marco Benevento, Say She She, Cool Cool Cool, Takuya Kuroda, New Breed Brass Band, Sexmob, Karina Rykman, TBA, Ghost Funk Orchestra, Ty Morris & H.O.W., A Lavalanche Tribute to Mike Enriquez ft. Kevin McCarthy, Telluride Student All-Stars Jazz Ensemble, The Crescent Super Band, Stillwater All Stars and iAM MUSIC.

Three-day passes are $230 plus fees; single-day passes start at $85 plus fees. A small amount of early-bird priced tickets will be available for the Patron and VIP Passes.
