Kathie Hoffman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.R. Hoffman, will be installed as Worthy Advisor of Dolores Assembly No. 50 Order of Rainbow for Girls.

Gas flow of 1.5 million cubic feet per day is reported from the latest test in Pittsburgh and Cherokee Coal and Mining Co. in the wildcat well put down recently in Dolores County about two miles south of the company's discovery field known as Papoose Canyon.

Rev. Glenn Lawrence of the First Methodist Church of Dolores will give the invocation and benediction at the graduation ceremonies. Correen Becher will give the salutatory address, 'Things of the Past," and Greg Majors will give the valedictory address, "Look Toward the Future."

Jerry Franklin of Ridgway narrowly escaped serious injury last week when the car he was driving was hit by tons of falling ice on the Million Dollar Highway. The ice struck the rear of his Jeepster.

There has been a slide into the Summit ditch about a half mile from the diversion dams. Because of such wet conditions, it has been impossible for equipment to reach the problem.

Tim Pleasant, son of Mr. and Mrs. L.W. Pleasant, underwent surgery for a fracture of the skull under his left eye on Wednesday at Mercy Hospital in Durango. The injury occurred when he was thrown from the back of a pickup truck when the driver made a whip turn into the football field Friday evening at a school carnival in Cortez.
