On Saturday, Jan. 21, the Larry Easterling Benefit was held at the Cortez American Legion. I put this event together because Larry is probably the most universally loved person I know, and, due to recent health problems, I thought he could use a little financial assistance. When anyone asked me about the benefit, I told them, "You don't want to miss it. It will be the party of the year!" Little did I know how true that would be. The Legion told me it was the biggest crowd they could remember.

I would like to thank Moe Cooley for putting together the Go Fund Me Page and the poster for the event, as well as supplying the P.A. system.

Kat Espinoza did an incredible job with the silent auction during the event.

We had about 10 acts perform at the benefit, too many to list here, and I would like to thank each of them for giving up their Saturday.

The bartenders, El and Kat, were extremely busy that night, but did a great job keeping up with demand,

The two food vendors, Yia Yia's and Pudda's, both were very busy, but kept everyone happy.

Most of all, I would like to thank the Legion, for letting us use their wonderful hall and stage.

And, of course, the Montezuma County community, for showing an incredible amount of support for this event. With all the negativity we have been hearing the last couple years, it was wonderful to see the community come together in such a huge way!

Mark Allen,
