Nancy Cumming presents Cortez Fire Department chief Jeff Vandevoorde with a United Blood Services plaque after the department won the Battle of the Badges blood donation contest. The fire department challenged the police department in the contest. The next blood drive will also be a food drive at the Cortez Fire Department on Dec. 17 from 4-6:30 p.m.
