Graduates of the 2013 Leadership Montezuma class celebrated their accomplishment during a picnic and ceremony at Denny Lake recently.
Leadership Montezuma is a series of monthly meetings of community members who want to learn the details of how this community works. Participants learn about natural resources in the area, local government, the culture and leadership of the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe, economic development, and criminal justice.
Throughout the year the class learns from and rubs elbows with the current leaders of the organizations that make Montezuma County run. It is hoped that following their graduation many of the participants will go on to fill the professional and volunteer positions that will continue to move us forward as a community.
Leadership Montezuma has open enrollment for the class of 2013-14 beginning in September. Feel free to apply on your own behalf or consider a friend, employee, or neighbor who may benefit from Leadership Montezuma.
