Crow Canyon extends Day Tour

In face of the federal government shutdown, the Crow Canyon Archaeological Center is extending its Archaeology Day Tour this year through October.

As an alternative to visiting Mesa Verde, visitors can get a behind-the-scenes glimpse into an ongoing archaeological research project.

Day Tour participants will learn about the different periods in Pueblo Indian history, visit a Crow Canyon excavation site, tour the archaeology laboratory and view artifacts in the curation facility. The tour is suited for individuals and families (though children must be at least 10 years old to attend). The tour includes lunch in the Crow Canyon lodge.

The price is $60 for adults and $35 for children.

The day tours will run every Wednesday and Thursday through October with the exception of Oct. 16 and 17. Call 564-4364.
