Mesa Verde seeks comments on wetlands plan

The National Park Service has released for public review a draft Statement of Findings for Wetlands for a maintenance facility in the Morefield Canyon area of Mesa Verde National Park. It is the intent of the park to mitigate the incremental damage that has occurred over several years to a small natural wetland (about 1/3 acre) next to the facility by constructing a self-sustaining wetland in a more secure location nearby. The public review period is June 28 to July 29, 2013. Mesa Verde National Park is soliciting comment on this plan.

To access the Draft Statement of Findings, visit the project’s home page on the National Park Service’s Planning, Environment and Public Comment web site at: http://parkplanning.nps.gov/morefield-dsofw.
