Local e-tax collector hits business milestone
MUNIRevs, headquartered in Montezuma County, has surpassed $100,000,000 in paperless sales tax revenues collected for Colorado Municipalities.
The company, founded by Dolores resident and CPA Erin Neer, saves cities and towns over 13,000 hours of data entry each year by providing an efficient and thorough online system for collecting sales tax revenue and renewing business licenses. Neer, a former finance director, saw that a more efficient system was needed, so she went to work creating one.
Named in 2014 by Colorado Biz Magazine as one of Colorado’s 25 Most Influential Professionals, Neer has grown the company since its inception in 2011. Company software offers efficient communication and ease of workflow to the municipalities and their businesses.
Neer designed the process to alert businesses when they owe sales tax or need to renew their business license .
The MUNIRevs paperless system have helped jurisdictions collect $100 million in paperless revenues and over $500,000 in late charges. MuniRevs serves over 16,000 and saves 13,000 annual hours of data entry, the company says.
