Photo: Goose rests on a rising river

A goose sits on its nest Thursday in the middle of the Animas River behind the Powerhouse Science Center. Time will tell if the pair of geese built their nest high enough to survive the spring runoff during this year of above-average snowpack. The river was running at 494 cubic feet per second Thursday.
