Deputies were dispatched to a hotel for an assault. The woman working at the hotel said she had repeated problems with a guest so she went up to his room to tell him to stop and he went crazy and started choking her. One of the officers asked the woman what her relationship was with the man. She said that he was a guest and she was the employee. The police then went to the man’s room and asked him what happen. The man said that the woman and he have had an intimate relationship; he said that the woman got upset because she thought he had told her sister that they were intimate. Since she was upset, she came into the room without knocking, with a key she made from the front desk, and started scratching and swinging punches at him. He showed the police where she had scratched him and they agreed that the scratches appeared to be similar to what would be caused by fingernails. It was decided that the primary aggressor in the incident was the female working at the hotel. The woman was arrested for third degree assault and third degree criminal trespass.
Sunday, Aug. 11
An officer was requested to contact a female regarding the violation of a restraining order by her estranged husband. The woman said that her ex-husband attempted to get several of her family members to relay messages to her for him. The woman also said that he had posted on Facebook and “tagged” her in several posts. One post said he could not live without her, that he was nothing without her and to please hear him out because he needs her in his life. A warrant for the man’s arrest was completed and submitted for review and was approved on Aug. 11.
Wednesday, Aug. 14
A deputy arrived at the intersection of Eighth Street and Central Avenue in the town of Dolores to assist with a traffic stop. The other officer conducting the traffic stop advised the officer that the driver had admitted to drinking three to four beers at the Riverfront Bar in Dolores. The officer asked the driver to step out of the vehicle to perform roadside maneuvers to prove he was able to drive. The driver did not perform successfully and agreed to a breath test, with the results being .143. The driver was arrested for DUI.
Sunday, Aug. 18
Dispatch requested a deputy to report to Dolores regarding a noise complaint. They observed that there were several people under the influence of alcohol standing around a vehicle that was playing loud music. It appeared that there was a party at the residence. While checking licenses to determine who was under age, they came across a female who had two warrants. She was arrested and transported to the Montezuma County Jail.
