1:40 p.m.: A deputy responded to KP Pawn, 24099 Road G. 2, Cortez, for a REDDI report of a man who crashed his truck into a pillar while allegedly intoxicated. He was located nearby and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a valid license, open container and failure to notify police of an accident.
10:11 a.m.: A deputy responded to the Loves Truck Stop, 7006 U.S. Hwy. 160, Cortez, for a reported disturbance and possible assault. A man reported being approached by another man who used racial slurs; the second man said the first became confrontational. The second man allegedly threw the first man's phone, causing damage. The deputy stated his intention to request Love’s security footage at the time of the incident.
8:05 a.m.: A deputy responded to Road 29.2, Dolores, for a report of a found firearm. The deputy located a sawed-off single-barreled 20-gauge shotgun with a round in the chamber on the roadside shoulder. The weapon was secured as evidence.
5:39 p.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on Road W, Dolores, for a report of a cold break-in. A neighbor discovered a kicked-in garage door and a broken window at a vacant cabin. Nothing appeared to be missing.
11:08 a.m.: A deputy responded to The Depot, 520 Railroad Ave., Dolores, for a minor traffic accident in the parking lot with no injuries. One woman backed into another woman's vehicle with a kayak protruding from her trunk. The drivers exchanged information and no citations were issued.
6:24 a.m.: A deputy responded to Seventh Street, Dolores, for a bear that opened an unsecured trash receptacle in violation of town ordinance. The owner was issued a citation.
9:29 a.m.: A deputy responded to Railroad Avenue, Dolores, regarding an abandoned vehicle. The man responsible for the vehicle was located and issued a citation for willful abandonment of a motor vehicle on public property. The vehicle was towed.
1:23 p.m.: A deputy initiated a traffic stop on Road 26 near the 13000 block, Cortez, after observing a woman driving erratically and crossing the center line. The woman was issued citations for failure to maintain lane, driving while suspended and no insurance.
11:32 a.m.: A deputy responded to the Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., Cortez, for a court remand. A woman was transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center.
9:12 p.m.: A deputy responded to 10223 U.S. Hwy. 491, Cortez, for a vehicle parked at an angle in the middle of the highway, creating a hazard. The driver was not located. The vehicle was towed for safety.
12:51 a.m.: A deputy responded to the area of 14994 U.S. Highway 491, Dolores, for a reported brush fire. The fire, believed to be started by a firework, was extinguished by firefighters with no structures threatened. No suspect was identified.
7:16 p.m.: A deputy responded to a residence on Road E, Cortez, for a report of property damage during a family argument. A man allegedly threw rocks and shattered his daughter's vehicle window. The involved parties declined to pursue charges.
12:59 a.m.: A deputy responded to the Montezuma County Jail, 730 E. Driscoll St., Cortez, where a woman turned herself in on two warrants. She was placed into custody.
10:59 a.m.: A deputy responded to the Combined Courts, 865 N. Park St., Cortez, for a court remand. A man already detained by court security was transported to the Montezuma County Detention Center.
