Certified child passenger safety technicians will offer free hands-on car seat inspections and education in the parking lot of the Cortez Senior Center, 117 N. Chestnut St., from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday.
The event is free and open to the public. Prior registration is not required.
A flyer for the event said the goal of the event is to help parents and guardians keep their children safe while on the road.
Attendees will receive assistance with choosing the right car seat for their child’s age, size and weight, learn how to install and use them properly, check seats for recalls or safety concerns and learn how to correctly fasten children into the seat to keep children safe in the event of a crash.
Low-cost or no-cost replacement seats may be available for families in need.
