The strain on cherished friendships over the present president of the United States has been so profound in my life that it’s caused a pain and angst I’ve never experienced before. His recent depiction of himself as Jesus left me cold. The pledge to eliminate an entire race and culture is just another footnote in his nonstop regurgitation of pure insanity, as he claims a mandate from the people of America.
Enough. The 25th Amendment must be invoked to remove him from the presidency. “Trump derangement syndrome?” If that means I can’t stand this man and that I have deep hatred for everything he represents, then I have “TDS.”
I am disappointed with the many friends who allowed him to assume this precious office, born 250 years ago. Let JD Vance complete the term as provided in our Constitution. Maybe we can endure three years of Vance as president, but not one day more of Trump.
No one will seek my forgiveness for their vote. But it was – and is – too dire a mistake for me to forget who brought him here. Enough. America has had enough.
