The Montezuma-Cortez School District will introduce a full-time online learning program for students starting in sixth grade through the senior year of high school beginning in fall 2026.
The option will allow in-district students to complete their schooling remotely while maintaining access to many traditional school experiences. Students who complete the online program will earn an diploma and participate in the high school graduation ceremony.
Students may take one to two in-person classes per semester at the middle school or high school, depending on grade level, as both hybrid and fully online pathways will be offered.
Students can take part in extracurricular activities, receive academic and personal support services, and access career and college counseling, including assistance with obtaining scholarships, applying to college and completing applications for federal student aid. They may also participate in concurrent enrollment to earn college credits while still in high school.
Technology resources and technical support will be provided by the district.
More information about enrollment for the 2026-27 school year will be available on the Montezuma-Cortez School District website at www.cortez.k12.co.us/.
