A 16-year-old girl from Cortez is missing after she was last seen leaving a residence on South Maple Street around midnight Monday. Police said there are concerns for her safety.
The Cortez Police Department and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation are seeking information from the public about Kleo Azure, who is described as a 4 feet 11 inches Indigenous teen with brown eyes and black hair with red stripes.
She was last seen around midnight Monday leaving the 100 block of South Maple Street in a gray 2008 Lexus ES 350 with Colorado license plate CRK-H62.
Police believe she was possibly wearing blue jeans, a hoodie or crop top and Nike shoes with a blue stripe. In a news release, police said they believe she may be headed toward Farmington.
Police said law enforcement officials are concerned for her safety. If seen, the public is asked to call 911 or the Cortez Police Department at 970-565-8441. No photos of Azure were immediately available.
