ZU Gallery to host Duets event featuring new musical pairings

ZU Gallery will host an event called “Duets” on Friday and Saturday.
Challenge invites musicians to explore creativity through new collaborations

ZU Gallery will present “Duets” on Friday and Saturday, a two-night musical experiment featuring seven pairs of local musicians. Each duo will craft an original 25-minute set, giving artists a chance to collaborate outside their regular bands.

“We’ve brought together musicians who don’t usually share the stage and given them one challenge: create a 25-minute set as a duo,” said Jodi Jahrling, founder of ZU Gallery.

On Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., the pairings are: Hagen McDonell with John Reeve, Abi Rose Moonflower with Liam Vodicka, Amanda Vodicka with Abbie Herring, and Moe Cooley with Sunny Gable.

On Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m., the lineup includes Moe Cooley with Sunny Gable, Kevin Frazier with Mimi Genheimer, Tracy Wiebeck with Bobby Wintringham, and Willie Perritt with Chris Bjornn.

Each duo created a set tailored for the two-day event, and the performance order for each night is announced at showtime.

“These collaborations represent something genuinely new,” Jahrling added. “Audiences will witness musical partnerships that have never existed before and might never happen again in quite this way.”

Performances begin at 6 p.m. each evening at ZU Gallery, 48 W. Main St. A $10 cover charge is collected at the door, with no advance tickets available.
