The Mancos School District on Wednesday named members of its Mill Levy Oversight Committee, bringing together a diverse group of people from the district and community to oversee the distribution of mill levy funds.
The committee was formed to guide the district’s allocation of mill levy override funds with community input, ensuring proper distribution and responsible use in line with ballot language. Voters approved the mill levy in November to boost school staff salaries.
- Jessica Schneider, paraprofessional.
- Josh Dalley, high school teacher.
- Brady Archer, middle school teacher.
- Chyrise Bay, elementary school teacher.
- Alice Miller, office manager and incoming business manager.
- Destri Lockhart, facilities and transportation director.
- Janet Fogel, human resources director.
- Chrissie Miller, business manager.
- Blake Mitchell, former board of education member.
- Chuck Krupa, parent.
- Gina Love, career and technical education teacher.
At their first meeting, the committee discussed the purpose of the mill levy and ballot language and began drafting goals and criteria for the process and outcomes, the district said.
The next meeting will focus on learning about the district’s salary and wage models, and those at other districts in Colorado.
The committee aims to present a salary and wage schedule to the board at its Monday, March 2, work session, with final approval targeted for the Monday, April 20, board meeting.
The district said updates will be provided after each meeting.
