No, ‘affordability’ doesn’t mean ‘hoax’

Af-ford-a-bil-i-ty. I just found it on my laptop’s built-in dictionary! I was shocked to see that “hoax” was not referenced in the definition. Turns out it’s defined as “the ability to afford; inexpensiveness,” or “the cost or price of something.”

With a propensity to give our president the benefit of the doubt, I believe he must be using a dictionary that includes errors. After all, he has repeatedly claimed that inflation numbers are a “hoax,” that rising grocery prices are a “hoax,” and that concerns about affordability are exaggerated or fabricated by Democrats.

I looked up “hoax” on the same helpful platform. It says: humorous or malicious deception. Humorous? Malicious deception? That’s affordability?

Now look up “malicious.” It says: characterized by malice; intending or intended to do harm.

Donald Trump is malicious. And your grocery receipt is not humorous.
