Cortez police on Monday announced the arrest of Zakery Kibel on identity theft and nine other charges.
Kibel, 31, was also charged with first- and third-degree criminal trespass, three counts of theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and destroying private property, according to a news release by the Cortez Police Department.
In addition to identity theft, Kibel was charged with criminal possession of an identification document and unauthorized use of a financial transaction device.
Kibel was arrested at the Montezuma County Detention Center, according to the Cortez Police Department. His arrest was based on numerous warrants for failure to appear in cases in Montezuma County and Cortez Municipal Court, as well as a warrant from a case in Dolores County.
Kibel is scheduled to appear in Montezuma County Combined Courts at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. He is also set to appear at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 4. He is also scheduled to appear at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 14 in Dolores County Combined Courts for a pretrial conference.
