Jett Lawrence won both races to stand atop the podium at the end of Round 5 Supercross at The Wick 338 in Southwick, Massachusetts, on Saturday, with his brother Hunter Lawrence finishing in second and Eli Tomac in third.

The “sandiest track of the year” experienced some rain in the morning, but the sun came out just in time for the day’s races.

Keeping with the trend of this season’s Motocross races so far, “the Honda boys (Lawrence brothers) continue to own the starts,” with Jett Lawrence claiming the hole shot and Hunter Lawrence racing not far behind in second in the first race of the day.

Commentators shared that the start was Jett Lawrence’s “best jump” of the season so far. Jorge Prado was noted to be racing well, keeping the top group of riders in his sights as Tomac fought back from a start outside of the top 10.

Soon, Tomac found a “good flow” and passed Aaron Plessinger, allowing him to move closer to Prado. The two fought for the third place position before Prado crashed, allowing Tomac to move solidly into third.

Jett Lawrence placed first by a large margin of nearly 15 seconds, followed by Hunter Lawrence in a “lonely second” and Tomac in third.

In the second race, Prado tried to take the hole shot from Jett Lawrence, but was unable to claim it. Despite missing the hole shot, Prado stayed close to Jett for the first few laps of the race. Hunter Lawrence and Tomac raced behind the leading racers.

Tomac moved to third ahead of Hunter Lawrence, but it wasn’t long before Hunter Lawrence passed him back.

At the end of the race, Tomac said that Jett and Hunter Lawrence were “riding better.”

Before the race’s end, Prado crashed again, allowing Hunter and Tomac to pass him. Jett Lawrence finished first by nearly 10 seconds, followed by Hunter Lawrence and Tomac.

The next Motocross race will be held on Saturday, July 5 at RedBud MX in Buchanan, Michigan.
