ZU Gallery is looking for artists to participate in their art show fundraiser

Artists of any age and medium are invited to participate in “FOOD: An Art Show,” which opens on Wednesday, Feb. 1, and benefits the Good Samaritan Food Pantry. Participants can exhibit 1-4 pieces for sale in the meeting space at ZU Gallery located at 48 W. Main St., Cortez. Art can be registered online at zugallery.com in advance to save time at check-in and includes all the guidelines for the official load-in on Tuesday, Jan. 31 between 4-6 p.m. Each entry is $5 or a food item donation.

This is the sixth community “pop-up” hosted by ZU Gallery since they opened nearly 18 months ago. Previous shows included the themes: Bloom, Soul, Breathe, Celebrate, and Darkness as inspiration. The gallery gets art ranging from jewelry to sculptures. They have been flexible on following the theme in the past, but for this show they are being strict about following the subject of food.

The opening reception will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 6 p.m. A $5 cover will go to benefit the Good Samaritan Food Pantry. All art is available for purchase with a percentage going to the artist and Good Samaritan Food Pantry. The remaining show days will have free entry and will run through Thursday, Feb. 9.
