Shundiin Kauffman, a 2016 graduate of the Goal Academy High School in Cortez, made the dean’s list as a sophomore for the winter semester at Johnson Wales University in Denver.

She attended the Goal Academy, a digital learning school at 215 N. Linden St., from 2014 through 2016.

Kauffman plans to graduate in May 2018 with an associate degree in culinary arts, specializing in baking and pastries.

She also attended the Montezuma-Cortez Re-1 School District from kindergarten through her sophomore year.

Kauffman is the daughter of Matt and Dora Bennally.
