Pet of the Week

“Butler” is a sweet, handsome, loving little guy. He is about 4 years old, very gentle and kind. Butler is a chihuahua and weighs about 10 pounds. He is very quiet and never makes a peep. He would love to be someone’s little lap dog and take long walks in the sunset. He was brought into the Cortez Animal Shelter on a transport from the Farmington shelter as they had too many dogs. He is one of three small dogs left from that transport that happened almost a month ago. Butler does not deserve to be in a kennel at the shelter; he is a great dog and needs a nice safe place to live out his years. The Cortez Animal Shelter will be having two Adoptathons this week. Friday the shelter will have many kittens and dogs at Slaven’s True Value Customer Appreciation days from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday the shelter will be at Wal-Mart for the annual United Blood Services blood drive and will have many more kittens and puppies for adoption from 10 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Cortez Animal Shelter is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed every other Friday for intensive cleaning. For more information contact the shelter at 970-565-4910 or go to www.petango.com to view available animals for adoption, enter the zip code 81321.
