Cortez library starting music classes for toddlers

Ruth Cutcher will host a 10-week music class using the Suzuki method every Monday beginning Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. for ages 3 weeks to 3 years old at the Cortez Public Library, 202 N. Park St., in Cortez.

The class is free thanks to a generous grant.

Increase your child’s brain development in infancy and early childhood through this fun and interactive class for children and parents.

By regularly attending this class your child will develop:

Academic skills including focus, memory, literacy, and counting.Musical skills (rhythm, melody, ensemble and solo) and physical skills (coordination and manual dexterity).Character skills such as empathy, sharing, and taking turns. Only one child may attend with each parent. Participants are encouraged to dress comfortably for sitting on the floor as well as moving around. Shoes must be removed for class.
