Daylily sale to benefit Mancos Public Library

Gossamer Parasol

Friends of the Mancos Library will co-host a "Daylilies and Lemonade" plant sale Sunday, July 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. at the home of Pete and Holly Cruser of Mancos. The sale is located just north of town off Route 184 in Sun West Estates, at 10405 Road 41.4, Mancos.

Grower of over 150 award-winning cultivars of daylilies, Holly Cruser comments "Browsers will find almost every color except a pure blue or white; and bloom sizes range from 2 inches to over 10 inches. Our home nursery has been a joy, but it is time to downsize and if we can benefit others at the same time, that's terrific."

This is the second year for the sale - a dozen varieties were sold out last time, but there are new offerings now including double flowers and unusual forms. Double fans will be sold for $5 each. Buy 2 plants, get a free bonus; buy 3 plants, get two bonus plants.

Join the fun, enjoy some lemonade and take home something beautiful while benefitting the Mancos library. The sale will be held rain (!) or shine. Parking is limited, so please carpool. All-wheel/4-wheel drive is recommended; steep driveway. For further information, call the library at 533-7600.
