In loving memory of Gary Conrad Wheatland of Escondido, Calif.

Gary Wheatland, 64, passed away peacefully at home with his family by side on Friday, May 25, 2012, after a long brave fight with cancer.

Gary was born on June 6, 1947 in Cortez to Winford and Nellie Wheatland. He grew up in Colorado close to many family and friends, and ultimately met his wife, Pam, in Denver. In 1986, Gary, Pam and their children moved to Escondido as he continued his successful career with Bank of America. Gary’s true passion was his family, and over the years enjoyed the many little league games, dance recitals, camping trips, graduations and weddings. He was a kind, loving, hardworking man that will always be remembered for his big heart, quick sense of humor and putting his family first above all things. Gary was known by some as Papa Wheat, Uncle Gary, Wheat and for a select few GGG. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, sisters Marjorie Reynolds and Margaret Hover and brother Ray Ward. He is survived by his wife Pam, his daughters Sundi and Shantel, his sons Shane, Shad and Skyler, his daughter in law Kara, his son in law Jon, and his three grandchildren Shaedin, Karson and Kamryn and sisters Doris Koppenhafer and Sally Rash. A memorial service will be held Saturday June 2 at 10 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church in San Marcos, Calif.
